Thiamine for Dogs

Thiamine for Dogs (Vitamin B1) is important for his health. It can be disproportionately important for Boxers because of their predisposition to many forms of heart ailments.B1 is instrumental in the conversion of carbohydrates into the energy that powers the neuorological system that regulates the heart. The heart is really just another muscle. Thiamine deficiency can manifest itself in any muscle causing dysfunction. A worst case B1 deficiency can cause brain damage and death. But this usually only occure when a Boxer Dog subsists on a diet of raw fish containing Thiaminase. The best natural sources of Thiamine for your Boxer are pork and cooked fish. Whole grains are an excellent source for humans, but many Boxers have difficulty digesting them or are allergic them. Grains are largely used as filler in commercial feeds. They offer little benefit to the dog, and pass through directly to the garden.
