It is a member of the family of unsaturated fatty acids. Omega-3 can be found in fish oils and are natural anti-inflammatory agents which is why they may be an effective treatment for athritis.

Omega-3 also helps to boost the auto-immune system.

Fish in general are good for the Boxer's coat and we feed a fish based comercial food 1 to 3 times a week.

Once or twice a week we use some cooked salmon or tuna as an "appetiser" on our dogs' dry food as well. They like it.

Other sources of Omega-3 include, flax or hemp products.

If for some reason you would rather use commercial fish oil products, be sure to use them quickly as they lose their nutritional value before their shelf-life expires.
