L-Carnitine for Dogs

L-Carnitine for Dogs

ASK YOUR VET!

Cardio-Strength for Dogs (60ct)

Carnitine is an amino acid ,drug given to dogs with various heart disorders particularly cardiomyopathy. It probably also helps reduce cholesterol.

Carnitine metabolises fats and helps the body utilize fat and maintain muscle mass which (I think) explains its beneficiary realtionship to the heart (muscle).

Besides herat problems, deficiency can also lead to obesity, as fats are retained rather than burned or turned into muscle mass.

L-Carnitine is usually quite prevelant in Boxers' natural diets, if they are fed (as they should be) predominantly meat menus.

Deficiencies usually are caused by genetic disorders that prohibit natural absorption by the cells.

If your doctor prescribes L-Carnitine, be sure to give it with food to help absorption and reduce gastro-intestinal side effects.

Over the counter, you can get Cardio-Strength for about $33at www.petscriptions.com

It contains 250 mg of L-Carnitin and Taurine.

But we highly recommend discussing this supplement with your veterinarian before adminstering it!
