England Boxer Breeders
England Boxer BreedersThe British, and especially the English, seem to have decided to go their own way as far as ineterpretation of the original boxer standard goes. That is fine, they are producing beautiful dogs. But one must wonder when they will finally exhaust a "flashy brindle" or "flashy reverse brindle" gene pool and finally sail into the dangerous waters experienced in the USA post
Bang Away.
But not being a geneticist, I will look here at what appears to be good stuff coming out of, or rather mostly staying within the borders of the UK. One thing I have noted and like about the English (and other British) breeders, is that they mostly tend to handle their own dogs in the show-ring. I don't know really why I like that so much, but it just seems to give the impression of a closer bind with the animal.....
Newlaithe Boxers
Newlaithe Boxers
The
reason
we created this site, was because we lost a 12 week old pup to
aortic stenosis
and decided as boxer owners to better educate ourselves about this beautiful, athletic, yet fragile breed, in order to never go through such literal and figurative heart-break again.A look at Newlaithe's homepage will explain our natural attraction to their "business model". The are all about educating us on the dangers of Stenosis to the breed.
Shakatan
Shakatan
The owners of Shakatan have some formal backround in Canine genetics and breeding and publish an excellent
"basics" here.
We have invited them to comment on our articles, and hope to learn from them! One of the owners also has a two year BTEC in Animal Care accreditation, and both are registered nurses. What I suppose we like the most about Shakatan is that they are small enough to breed for "home use". That is they raise pups from their own litters as pets. The really appear to be a quality over quantity kennel.
